I don't understand why Hosker's books have been so poorly proof-read; however I've never had any problems with understanding. Not too much is known about the Dark (Middle Ages). Most period writers were the Leaders ( examp. Julius Caesar) or writers who attempted to please their Kings. Hosker gives a believable understanding of the period--how people lived, fought and survived. Even though. He has the major events correct.I'm an 81 yr. old female, I like Hosker's books and intend to read them all--as will my 50 yr. old son. I don't care for the "pap" the local female book clubs (really social) read.

I totally enjoyed and ripped thorough all these books one after the other and was sad when they came to an end.
I am glad that I hung in there and completed these books they made me think about if that was how hard it was to survive in the days of Saxons and Vikings. I look forward to this writer's next lot of novels.
I enjoyed this series the most out of all I've read of Griff Hosmer so for. "EXCELLENT"
Saxon Bane is the latest great book. I have read all seven in this series and it has been a great journey with never a dull moment. Can hardly wait for book 8,
Enjoy historical fiction as a History teacher. This material takes liberties as should be done but the author has done a good job of keeping somewhat close to the times events and lifestyle of the Saxon era. I really enjoyed the interchange between the Christian priests who help
the warlord and his kindness and protection of them even though he and a lot of his warriors would not adopt the Christian ways. Well written
and moves right along. I have read all 7 books in this series. Start with the first, but if you do not have time, then the first several chapters
of any book brings you up to date of previous books.

What an amazing writer you can actually feel the story while you read.
I have has so much trouble trying to put this book down as it is so well written I wanted to Finnish it.
History, intrigue and excitement all wrapped up together.
I love reading about the dark ages and how they were formed, also how civilisation , if that's what you can call it was created.
You should read the books from the start to get the enter picture.
It is certainly worth it.
I have become addicted to your stories. As I think on retiring for the day, I look forward to sinking into bed with another, in a series, of adventure, history and heroes. As each generation moves on, another begins and I participate with them. Thank you for your better editing as well!
